JSC «Belshina» has mastered manufacture of a new OTR tyre model - Bel-160.

The new OTR tyre 46/90-57 Bel-160, tubeless, bias, with mine tread pattern, is assigned for mine dump trucks with load-carrying capacity 220t to be run in mines with road conditions of 3-K and 4-K categories in temperature range - 55°C / + 50°C.

E-3 mining tread pattern improves self-cleaning of the tread, cut and puncture resistance. It ensures maximum tread contact and even distribution of contact pressure as well as reduction of heat build-up and tread wear. This tread pattern corresponds with modern tendencies and specific character of tyre use for dump trucks.

Preliminary stand tests have been completed at JSC «Belshina». At present Bel-160 is passing acceptance and service tests.

The International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs has awarded JSC «Belshina» a quality sign «The Highest Hallmark».

This sign is awarded within the framework of the international image program «Leaders of the XXI century», realized by the Assembly. Over twenty projects are carried out within the framework of this program - international, national, regional ratings of personal and corporate skill, competitions on quality of production. Over 3 thousand enterprises and organizations of Europe, including the postSoviet space became their winners.

A quality sign «The Highest Hallmark» is one of the main projects of the program «Leaders of the XXI century». It is awarded to the companies which products and services are distinguished by high quality and competitiveness.

The purpose of the project «The Highest Hallmark» is formation of positive image of the trade mark or the enterprise, attraction of attention of the customer to the qualitative, competitive goods and services, stimulation of manufacturers in struggle for quality.

The bronze statuette of the quality sign «The Highest Hallmark» which has been awarded to JSC «Belshina» in solemn conditions, represents two shoot up wings - a symbol of creative imagination, work capacity and patriotism. Along with a statuette the enterprise has received the diploma and symbolics of the quality sign for marking.

JSC «Belshina» has increased the production volume for 29.4% in January-April 2007, as compared with the same period of the previous year.

The commercial products' growth rate for this period in comparable prices comes to 134.2%.

Sales volume in January-April 2007 increased for 28%, and export for 18%, as compared with the same period of the previous year.

JSC «Belshina» has sold 39.3% of the produced goods during four months in Belarus, in Russia - 24.4%, in other CIS counties - 11.7% and 24.6% in foreign countries.

JSC «Belshina» plans to invest over 90 billion BYR to the fixed capital in 2007, which is three times as much as in the previous year.

These capital investments are effected in the frames of the Program of the long-term development of the company for 2005-2010. The Program includes a number of large-scale investment projects, with the purpose of increasing the production volumes of high-quality products. Totally, the implementation of this Program will need over 160 mln. Euro to be invested.

The present assets will be forwarded for the purchase of modern hi-tech machinery, machine-tool attachments, reconstruction and modernization of the existing equipment and execution of installation works.

The necessary machinery is purchased on the basis of competition tenders with participation of local and foreign companies.

Economic effect from power saving at JSC «Belshina» makes 17.926 thousand kW (electric power) and 39.690 Gcal (thermal power) which amounts to 4793.3 mln. BYR in the first quarter of 2007.

During this period JSC «Belshina» has carried out 18 power saving actions with economic effect of 1.744 thousand kWh and 10.627 Gcal amounting 770.6 mln. BYR. At the same time the growth of secondary power resources comes to 2.166 Gcal to the amount of 97.4 mln. BYR in comparison with 2006.

Due to introduction of the new power saving equipment and increase of capacity utilization the economic effect made 16.182 thousand kWh and 29.063 Gcal to the amount of 4.022,7 mln. BYR in the first quarter of 2007.

In Russia trade houses were opened in Nizhny Novgorod (Nizhegorodsky Trade House «Belshina» LLC), Krasnodar (Krasnodarsky Trade House «Belshina» LLC), Petrozavodsk (Petrozavodsky Trade House «Belshina» LLC), and Smolensk (Smolensky Trade House «Belshina» LLC).

In Lithuania Trade House JSC «Beltyre» is opened in Vilnius.

The production growth rate in kind in the first quarter of 2007 makes 33.6% as compared with the same period of the last year.

The production growth rate for this period in comparable prices makes 36.3%. Sales volumes in the first quarter increased for 35.3%.

Export volumes increased for 24.6% during the first three months of 2007.

Belshina sales structure: local market – 38.9%, Russia – 24.2%, CIS countries – 11.1%, export – 25.8%.

JSC BELSHINA - one of the biggest European manufacturers of versatile tires – expands its presence in the foreign market.
At present set up of "BELSHINA” trade branches is being completed in Smolensk, Petrozavodsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Krasnodar. Moreover set up of Trade Houses in Tiumen, Irkutsk, Kursk, is scheduled for the end of the second quarter 2007. This will bring the range of goods, composed of approx. 200 sizes of tires for cars, trucks, heavy haulers, road building machines, lifting and shifting machines, buses, tractors and agricultural machines closer to consumers.

The company plans to open Trade Houses in Alma-Aty, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan and in Donetsk, Ukraine. Establishing of trade branch "BELSHINA" in Vilnius, Lithuanian capital, is completed in the second quarter 2007.

This step allows to increase the efficiency of sales, and to push up sales volume in the foreign market. In January - February, 2007 JSC "BELSHINA" increased commodity output in the comparable prices by 42.3 % in comparison with the similar period of the last year. The sales volume in value terms has increased by 45 %.

Also JSC BELSHINA plans to establish commodity distribution network in foreign countries in 2007. In particular, Trade Houses will be opened in Botswana, Guinea and Indonesia. Thus, within the bounds of tasks set by the Government of the country, the largest Belarusian manufacturer expands geography of export. Now the enterprise exports about 60 % of its output to more than 40 countries of the world.

Tubeless radial 195/65R15 Bel - 81 with steel cord in belt area is intended for GAS - 3110 "Volga" and its family. Moreover this tyre can be used on other car models including foreign ones provided that load and speed characteristics are observed. The company informs in particular that it can be used for Skoda, Citroen, Fiat, Ford, Opel, Nissan, Mazda cars.

The company specialists emphasize that directional tread pattern of 195/65R15 Bel-81 tyre with stud holes ensures high stability of the car on the road in winter due to the enlarged  contact patch and increased number of tread grooves that provide ice grip and  steering response at turning.

The tyre passed bench and approval tests. At present the tyre model is being prepared for serial production.

JSC BELSHINA  informed "Interfax " of  two new models of agricultural tyres  - 480/70R30 Bel-129 and 580/70R42 Bel-126 developed  at the enterprise.

New tubed radial wide cross-section tyre 480/70R30 Bel-129 with off-the-road tread pattern of R-1 type designed for front wheels of  "Belarus 2522" farm tractors and self-propelled agricultural machines of similar category that are used at ploughing and transporting, the company representatives said.

According to them tread pattern of 480/70R30 Bel-129  tyre corresponds to all modern tendencies and design level of agricultural tyres and is in full conformity with perspective demands made to radial wide cross-section tyres. This pattern guarantees perfect self-cleaning and towing characteristics, low specific ground pressure, minimal rolling loss. All this results in reduced fuel consumption, BELSHINA representatives underlined.

At present a pilot batch of 480/70R30 Bel-129 is being testes for acceptance in enterprises of the country.

Tubeless radial wide cross-section tyre 580/70R42 Bel-126 with off-the-road tread pattern of R-1 "Herring- bone" type designed mainly for driving wheels of "Belarus 2522" farm tractors and self-propelled agricultural machines of similar category.
As the company representatives explained, air-tightness of the tubeless model is achieved by means of special sealing layer and special bead design for tighter tyre rim fit.

It is mentioned that reduced ground pressure is a design feature of 580/70R42 Bel-126. Directional tread pattern improves both rough-terrain and surfaced road performance.  Powerful lugs of directional R-1 tread pattern ensure strong ground grip. Tread design guarantees perfect self-cleaning of the tyre.

A pilot batch of 580/70R42 Bel-126 passed bench and acceptance tests, the company informs. At present tyres are being service tested.
